Hi all, I have a query regarding dials on vintage Soviet watches. Are many of the Soviet watches for sale on ebay etc not showing authentic and/or original dials? I am using the following set of pulsometer images as my query example. The Chaika dials both look like old dials; the Raketa (lower) looks authentic but the upper dial looks extraordinarily fresh; the Slava looks incredibly fresh too. Finally, the Pobeda seems to be a fresh dial, but surely Pobeda did not make a dial lacking a sweep seconds hand which renders the watch useless as a pulsometer!!! I see so many fresh-looking dials on Soviet watches that I wonder are there businesses redialling old watches & more worryingly, are there persons making whimsical dials of their own fancy and passing them on as authentic dials of the original watch manufacturer? Thank you for reading this.
